Youth for Open Dialogue.
Let’s be real.
Life is hard, period. It can be exceptionally more difficult though when you add some pretty lofty standards, like the ones we Baha’i’s adhere to. Going even further, these standards in conjunction with the state of our world…well, we’re pretty much up a creek without a paddle. I’ve been in my fair share of situations where I struggle with what I do. Being in these tight spots where you have to figure out the “right” answer is a lot harder than I thought it’d be but then I realized, I’m not the only one.
As a Baha’i youth, this struggle can feel insurmountable when you feel like you have to choose between fitting in and doing what’s right. I’ve questioned a lot of my beliefs because of it.
Here’s the thing though, as Baha’i’s we have the unique privilege of sharing the writings as our center. Everyone is different, and beautiful because of it, but we’re all Baha’i’s at the end of the day and I want to focus on what we share rather than what we don’t.
That’s why I’m here, writing this down for you to read because I want to talk about these topics/struggles that people generally shy away from, from a Baha’i perspective. Just to be clear, I’m not talking about superficial stuff I’m talking about sex, drugs, and rock and roll baby. We’re diving deep here.
First and foremost, I’m not claiming I know everything or that I’m a Baha’i scholar by any means or even that I have any of this figured out. I just see where we can do better, and that usually starts with talking about it.
So, if you’re interested in taking this leap with me, fill out the form below, and let’s get moving!
Let’s do this.
Of course, there are lots of things I already want to talk about but I want to know, what do you want to talk about? Something brief, if you’re in the mood, or maybe nothing of import at all. This form is just a way for me to figure out if people even think this is a good idea, also a way for me to contact you with updates if it is. You don’t have to give me your life’s story (if you don’t want to) but if you’d like, I’d love to hear a little about you and why you’re on board or not, whatever floats your boat.
